Alex Schwazer banned for three and a half years by the anti-doping authority

The Olympic walking champion (Beijing 2008) was banned for three and a half years by the national anti-doping authority in Rome on Tuesday afternoon. The NOK had demanded a four-year ban. Schwazer's first reaction: "I'm disappointed because in my opinion the verdict is too harsh."
