The Kalterersee half marathon begins its ninth edition on Sunday

The top 7 series will continue next weekend with the first spring classic. After the start at the BOclassic on December 31st, the most important running series in South Tyrol goes into the next round on Sunday with the 9th Kalterersee half marathon.

The entire route is asphalted - except for a short section before the start/finish area - and was measured by the Italian Athletics Federation (FIDAL) as 21,097km. For the half marathon distance, 2 complete laps around Lake Kaltern have to be completed. The start and finish are next to the Gretl am See restaurant. The handbikers and participants in the panorama and fun run must complete 1 lap around the lake.

The start will take place on March 30th at 10 a.m. at the parking lot in St. Josef am See. The handbikers start 5 minutes earlier. At 10.05:XNUMX a.m. the panoramic and popular runners will take to the track.

Lake Kaltern half marathon is aiming for the 1000 mark The Top7 running series has been running for nine years now. In 2006, the Kalterersee half marathon was launched, which attracts numerous top runners year after year. The scenic event already had 500 participants in its founding year. There were 629 participants in 2010, 769 in 2011, 912 in 2012, while last year there were 910 athletes at the start.

This year, 750 runners have already secured their starting number and who knows, if the weather cooperates, we could even reach the 1000 mark and thus set a new participant record. This was narrowly missed last year. The defending champions are Hannes Rungger from Sarn and Monica Carlin from Trentino, who celebrated their second triumph in a row last year.
