The Stettiner Cup is calling on Sunday

The new OC boss Markus Raich can present some top-class participants at his baptism of fire. Hannes Perkmann from Sarn, a current member of the Italian national mountain running team, is at the start. The 24-year-old took part in the South Tyrol Sky Marathon last weekend and took second place in his home race on what was actually an unusually long route for him of 42,2 kilometers with an altitude difference of 2863 meters. Now it will be seen how well Perkmann has recovered from the exertion and whether he can win the day for the first time at the Stettiner Cup by Athletes.

Perkmann faces competition from the strong Gerd Frick from Meran and Henry Hofer, another promotion specialist from the Sarntal. “I think that these three athletes can deliver a thrilling three-way battle, with Frick certainly being Perkmann's worst opponent. With Andreas Schweigl we also have a strong local hero from Passeir who can do a lot. Other top athletes could still register, which could annoy Perkmann & Co. a little. Mikhail Mamleev, for example: “He will decide at the last second whether he will come to Pfelders and take part in the Stettiner Cup,” reveals Markus Raich a few days before the starting signal on Sunday at 10 a.m.

Roland Osele is there The participation of the Merano all-rounder Roland Osele, who won the Stonebrixiaman in July, one of the ten toughest triathlons in the world, is also certain. Former FCS professional Hansrudi Brugger will also be at the start of his home race. Record winner Hannes Rungger, who has canceled participation, as well as four-time winner Philip Götsch will definitely not be there. While Rungger is abroad, Götsch took a break from competition this year.

In the women's category, last year's winner Annelise Felderer would like to repeat her success. She is registered for the 19th Stettiner Cup just like the record winner Edeltraud Thaler. The grand dame of South Tyrolean mountain running has already won the Stettiner Cup five times and would like to complete half a dozen on Sunday. “I also had contact with Agnes Tschurtschenthaler and Renate Rungger. They haven't finally agreed to me yet, but of course I hope that two such successful athletes will honor us with their participation," says a confident Markus Raich.

Live broadcast on site and on YouTube In addition to the top stars, the focus is of course on the many other athletes and the many amateur runners who will compete in the Stettiner Cup and who will really struggle on the 10 kilometer long route with 1255 meters of altitude from the start in Pfelders via the Lazinser Alm up to the Stettiner Hütte. The athletes can look forward to more than just the spectacular route, the extensive starting package, and a live broadcast on site and via YouTube.
