Andersag and Hanspeter triumph at the start of the village run in Laas

Hanspeter set the pace from the start. The woman from Sarnen, who also won the Vivicittà run in Bolzano ten days ago, finally won safely in 10.16 minutes. At the finish she was 15 seconds ahead of Romana Gafriller from SG Eisacktal. Hanspeter's teammate, Sandra Sparer, came third in 10.42 minutes, and Natalie Andersag came fourth (10.52).

Natalie's brother, David Andersag, however, was unbeatable among the men. The 23-year-old from Kardaun, who competes for the Eppan club ASC Berg, celebrated a successful comeback after a year and a half injury break and held his own in 19.08 minutes. In second place was Christian Moser from ASV Freienfeld, who was already 2 seconds behind at the finish. Luis Schenk from Val Gardena completed the podium in 28 minutes.

There are also many young athletes at the start Young hopefuls Laura Riffesser and Henrik Schwalt won the U18 competition, Alyssa Kahlert and Julian Markart won the U16 race. Greta Chizzali and Samuel Demetz from Val Gardena secured the U14 class. Andersag and Hanspeter triumph at the start of the village run in Laas

The start of the 39th season of the VSS village and city runs took place in Laas on Tuesday. A total of over 350 athletes took part; the men's victory went to David Andersag from ASC Berg and the women's victory went to Kathrin Hanspeter from Sarnen.
