Anesi and Thaler win the Terlan-Mölten mountain race

This traditional run also counted as a regional championship. In the men's race, the victory went to 21-year-old Stefano Anesi from Trento, one of the best U23 mountain runners in Italy. Anesi prevailed in 52.48 minutes, 25 seconds ahead of local hero Tobias Geiser (53.13). Thomas Holzmann from Sarner (45), who competes for the Soltnflitzer Jenesien, came third, 53.34 seconds behind. Fourth-placed Alex Holtz (55:12) was already over two minutes behind.

In the women's category, Edeltraud Thaler from Lana from Telmekom Team South Tyrol won in 1:06.00 hours. Thaler won just ahead of Irene Senfter (1:06.09), who also comes from Lana. Host Miriam Wiedmer also climbed onto the podium (1:12:10).

Youth cross-country race goes to Lisa Kerschbaumer In the afternoon, a provincial youth cross-country race took place in Mölten with 136 starters between the ages of 7 and 18. Among the girls, the two top runners from SC Meran, Lisa Kerschbaumer and Emily Vucemillo, won in the U18 and U16 age groups. Anesi and Thaler win the Terlan-Mölten mountain race

Mölten celebrated a big July anniversary on Sunday, as the mountain run from Terlan up to the 1600-inhabitant village on Tschöggelberg was held for the 30th time this year. 114 runners were at the start of the 9,2 km long climb (1050 meters in altitude).
