Arge-Alp meeting in Graubünden: 29 South Tyroleans at the start

After Bellinzona served as the venue for the Arge Alp meeting last year, this year the major athletics event will be held in Landquart, in the east of Switzerland.

Numerous top track and field athletes from South Tyrol will also be at the start on Saturday and Sunday. The 29-member state selection is made up of 12 women and 17 men.

Four years ago, the South Tyrolean team even won the Arge Alp meeting, while in 2012 it was enough for second place. Last year, the local athletes made it onto the podium again with third place. The men in particular performed particularly well and celebrated three individual victories with Markus Ploner (5000m), Marco Colombo (staff) and Daniel Compagno (discus). This year they want to stand up to the current title holders from Lombardy.

Arge-Alp meeting in Graubünden: 29 South Tyroleans at the start

The regional athletics association has announced the names of the athletes who will take part in the traditional Arge Alp meeting with the South Tyrolean selection. The regional meeting will take place next weekend in Graubünden.
