Arge Alp: South Tyrol only has to admit defeat to Bavaria

Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate in Platting this year. Despite the really bad conditions, the local athletes showed a strong performance. The women achieved four daily victories with the U18 runner Carmen Vikoler over 800 m (2.16,63:20 minutes), the U3000 Sophia Zingerle, who stayed under the 9.57,33-minute mark for the first time over 10 m in 4:100, the 43.44xXNUMX m relay and the javelin thrower from SSV Brixen Serena Bergia (XNUMX m).

For the men, in addition to seven second places, there were victories for the veterans Manfred Menz in the pole vault with 4,60 m, Hannes Kirchler (54,24 m on the slippery discus course), Hubert Göller (60.42 m in the javelin) and the 4x100 m relay. Kirchler even competed in the shot put and came fourth with an impressive 14,83 m.

With these performances, Karl Schöpf's team came second in the team rankings. The victory went to the hosts from Bavaria. For the women, 15,5 points separated both teams, for the men 11.
