Athletic Club 96 Bolzano has been unbeaten for 16 years

Third place went to the Lagarina Crus team with 11.993 points and fifth place went to the state capital's second club, CSS Leonardo Da Vinci, with 7.620 points.

With this result, President Bruno Telchini's team can expect a top place at the Italian Championships this year too. Last year, the Bolzano team came in a strong sixth place, and this year they have already secured participation in the “Oro” final of Italy's twelve best clubs in Modena (15.500 points were necessary). New junior national record in the high jump The Bolzano athletes won 16 of the 20 competitions held, Abdessalam Machmach even celebrated a triple success: he was unstoppable over 800 and 1500 m as well as in the 4x400 m relay. In the ranks of the Bolzano team, Alberto Masera from Bolzano was particularly convincing. The 18-year-old high jumper won with the new junior national record of 2,09 m. This is actually the second best Italian performance this year. In addition, Meran pole vaulter Manfred Menz also made people sit up and take notice with 5,00 m, while walker Leonardo Dei Tos from Vittorio Veneto confidently won the 10 km in 41:07.73 minutes and was almost six minutes ahead of second-placed Aldo Andrei at the finish.

Among the women, Petra Nardelli from Bolzano shone, holding her own in both the 200 and 400 m. Caren Agreiter won the 400 m hurdles in a good 58.73. The athlete from SSV Bruneck missed her personal best by just four hundredths. Agreiter also shone in the 4x400m relay. Together with Katharina Oberhammer, Lisa Mayr and Maria Theresia Schwingshackl, the Puster women won in 3:48.34 minutes.

The Bolzano club Athletic Club 96 won the regional team championship for the 16th time in a row at the weekend. The hosts clearly prevailed with 16.299 points, ahead of Quercia Rovereto (12.714).
