Baldaccini and Jacobs win on the Seiser Alm

After the event had to be canceled last year due to the corona pandemic, this time everything was able to take place again as planned. In optimal running conditions, Alex Baldaccini dominated the men's race. The 33-year-old from San Giovanni Bianco is a mountain running specialist: Among other things, Baldaccini won silver at the European Mountain Running Championships in 2013 and bronze two years later. He also won the WMRA World Cup in 2017. Baldaccini more than lived up to his role as favorite on the Alpe di Siusi. The Lombard prevailed in a strong 1:18.36 hours, behind him, as in 2018 and 2019, Markus Ploner, who lives in Bolzano, placed second. The athlete from ASV Vipiteno stopped the time measurement in 2:1 hours. The Swiss Patrick Wägli came third in 21.00:1 hours. Khalid Jbari from Bolzano, winner in 23.25, narrowly missed the podium and came fourth. In the women's category, however, Ellis Jacobs from the Netherlands was at the top. The runner from Oirsbeek set the pace from the start and won in 1:38.32 hours. Jacobs beat Stefania Canale from the Aosta Valley to second place by 1:33 minutes. Ana Nanu from Rimini completed the podium in 2:1 hours. Petra Pircher from Lasa, who has already won the Seiser Alm half marathon three times, came fourth as the best South Tyrolean with a time of 41.31:1 hours. Baldaccini and Jacobs win on the Seiser Alm

Alex Baldaccini from Lombardy and the Dutch Ellis Jacobs won the eighth edition of the Seiser Alm Half Marathon on Sunday. A total of 459 runners took part.
