Bazzoni and Pircher set the tone at the Glurns city run

Gianmarco Bazzoni from Bolzano played one of the main roles in the running spectacle in Vinschgau. He completed the 5,6 kilometer route in a time of 18.17 seconds and thus took the day's victory. Behind the Athletic Club runner, Martin Mayrhofer and Gabriel Karnutsch took second and third place.

For the women, however, Petra Pircher dictated the pace. The experienced woman from Lasa left no doubt about her victory on the 4,2 kilometer long women's course and finally reached the finish after 16.05 minutes. Karin Innerebner and Gerlinde Baldauf completed the podium.

In addition to the two main races, several competitions were also held in the various junior categories. They formed the worthy setting for this highlight of the South Tyrolean running season. The VSS series will conclude next Sunday in Lagundo.

No fewer than 280 recreational athletes took part in the VSS city run in the historic center of Glurns at the weekend. In the end, last year's winners stood at the top of the podium.
