Bazzoni and Pircher win the village run opener in Prad

The women ran a 5 km lap in Prad, which initially led out of the village center of Prad and, after a loop through the orchards, brought the runners back to the start and finish area on Prad's main square. Petra Pircher set the pace from the start and ultimately won safely in 18,31 minutes. At the finish, the woman from Laas was more than a minute ahead of Natalie Andersag (ASC Berg). Beatrix Pichler came third in 20,02 minutes.

Gianmarco Bazzoni, on the other hand, was unbeatable in the men's 10.000 meters. The runner from Bolzano's Athletic Club 96 won in 33,47 minutes. In second place was Alex Holtz from Full Sport Meran, who was already 2 minutes behind at the finish. Maurizio Giusti from ASC Laas completed the podium in 1.05 minutes.

The club ranking was won by the team from Laas, which with an impressive 3008 points clearly left behind the local athletes from LF Laatsch/Taufers (1688 points). The ASC Berg team achieved third place with 1255 points. The VSS village and city running series, which will take place in a total of eight races this year, will continue on May 1st in Oberwielenbach.

Bazzoni and Pircher win the village run opener in Prad

The start of the 38th season of the VSS village and city runs took place in Prad on Tuesday. Last year's winners Gianmarco Bazzoni and Petra Pircher prevailed. A total of 290 runners took part in Vischgau.
