Brixia Meeting: De Nigro wins over 1500 m

The Brixia Meeting is one of the most important U18 events in Central Europe. Due to the corona pandemic, the formula for the Brixia Meeting changed slightly this year. In order to avoid complications, this time it was not a meeting for regional selections, but rather a top meeting at the highest level, to which each club could register its athletes individually. In total, almost 200 young athletes moved into their quarters in the Isarco Valley. On Sunday in Brixen all eyes were on Euan De Nigro, who was the big favorite over 1500 m. The triathlete from SG Eisacktal more than lived up to the high expectations. De Nigro set the pace from the start and stopped the time measurement in 3:56.21 minutes. He improved his personal best (3:59.20) by another three seconds. Ismaele Deidda from Catania came second, over four seconds behind. Mauro Dallapiccola from Trentino completed the podium in 4:01.10 seconds. More podiums for South Tyrolean athletes Six other local athletes climbed onto the podium in Brixen. De Nigro's teammate, Greta Chizzali from Laion, came second in the 2000 m steeplechase in 7:26.56 minutes. Chizzali only had to admit defeat to the German Anna Thaumiller (7:23.87). Alessia Goffi from Val Gardena took third place in the shot put with 10.80 m and fourth in the javelin throw (3 m). Marie Burger from Vahrn, who competes for SSV Brixen, placed third in the 40.64 m sprint in 200 seconds, Emily Vucemillo from SC Meran also came third in the 25.61 m with a new personal best of 1500:4 minutes. The boys also won bronze twice. Simon Federer from Kaltern only had to bow to Maurizio Cabras (100) from Oristano and Angelo Pesce (11.44) over 11.33 m in 11.36 seconds, while javelin thrower Jakob Göller from Passiria also came in third with 53.61 m (PB). Brixia Meeting: De Nigro wins over 1500 m

Strong exclamation mark from Euan De Nigro at the 38th edition of the “Brixia Meeting” in Brixen. The 17-year-old figurehead from SG Eisacktal took victory over 1500 m in a strong 3:56.21 minutes.
