Cavalleri and Nardelli convince in Locarno

This year South Tyrol again traveled to Switzerland with a very young team. In Locarno, the local athletes showed a strong performance, especially with the two figureheads Petra Nardelli and Valentina Cavalleri. Cavalleri from Innich won the 400 m hurdles in 1:00.52 minutes, Nardelli from Egger took second place in the 200 m run in 2 seconds. Together they won gold in the 24.33x4 m relay with Isabel Vikoler and Federica Cavalli. Nardelli also secured silver in the 400x4 m with Milla Möseneder, Cavalli and Isabel Eccli. Cavalli also won bronze in her flagship discipline of 400 m in 55.80 seconds, Eccli came second in the long jump with a good 5.67 m, just one centimeter behind the Tyrolean Lisa Felderer. Gold also went to Nathalie Kofler. The Lanan pole vaulter crossed 4.00 m. The Vinschger high jumper Lorena Lingg reached third place with 1.66 m. Hubert Göller showed an outstanding performance. The 44-year-old javelin thrower from Passiria not only prevailed in his flagship discipline, he also set a new season's record with 62.89 m. Alberto Masera was also at the top of the podium: the man from Bolzano won the high jump with 2.05 m. Riccardo Vantini, however, narrowly missed the podium. The CSS figurehead Leonardo da Vinci had to settle for fourth place in the 400 m hurdles. In the overall ranking, South Tyrol took fourth place with 214,5 points. The victory once again went to the athletes from Bavaria, who were able to win with 281,5 points, clearly ahead of Lombardy (238) and Ticino (217). Cavalleri and Nardelli convince in Locarno

The Arge-Alp meeting traditionally always takes place at the end of the athletics track season. This year the cross-border meeting was held in Locarno. The South Tyrolean state selection celebrated five daily victories and took fourth place in the team rankings.
