The Three Municipalities Half Marathon selects the top 7 overall winners

The last Top7 run is also the oldest. For the 21st time, a half marathon (21,097 km) will be held between the three communities of Branzoll, Leifers and Pfatten. The runners have been meeting in the Unterland since 1994; last year there were 352 in number. The run is also interesting because the top 7 overall winners are traditionally chosen in Branzoll.

Hannes Rungger and Kathrin Hanspeter from Sarn are currently on the verge of securing victory in the final classification. Rungger is clearly ahead of his pursuer Patrick Oberlechner in the men's category with a lead of 193 points, while Hanspeter's victory in the women's category can hardly be taken away. However, there is pure tension behind it. Only the last kilometers will decide the final ranking of the Top7 series.

The route offers the athletes the chance to achieve absolute top times. The past bears witness to this, as Said Budalia (1.04,11) and Agnes Tschurtschenthaler (1.15,00) have already set impressive record values in Branzoll. Raimund Thaler's best time for handbikers is 35,23 minutes.

This year, however, the route will be slightly modified. Due to the construction work on the motorway bridge in Pfatten, the organizers have to change direction from kilometer five onwards, but without affecting the overall length of the course. The starting signal in the Galizien sports zone in Leifers will be fired at 10 a.m., and the finish line will be in the town center of Branzoll.

On Sunday the eagerly awaited 21st edition of the Three Municipalities Half Marathon will take place in Branzoll, Leifers and Pfatten. This is the conclusion of the prestigious Top7 running series.
