The South Tyrol Drei Zinnen Alpine Run, a mountain running festival

134 children and young people took on the challenge of the Mini Drei Zinnen Alpine Run. On various distances from 300 meters for the very little ones (born in 2011 and even younger) to Junior B (born in 2001 and 2002), the participants ran for the fastest time on the course around the house in Sexten. Fun was always the top priority for all participants, and the numerous adults present cheered on all the runners in an exemplary manner.

“It’s just nice to see the enthusiasm with which the children and young people are here. They smile, they laugh - the values of sport such as the fun of exercise are really lived here,” said OC boss Gottfried Hofer from the organizing ALV Sextner Dolomiten and also passed this compliment on to all participants in the South Tyrol Drei Zinnen Alpine Run.

The Mini Drei Zinnen Alpine Run was once again the crowning conclusion of the mountain running spectacle in Sesto this year. Former world champion Petro Mamu (Eritrea) and the Italian Sara Bottarelli won the main race on Saturday on a shortened route (12 km/1300 meters altitude). “We are of course overjoyed that everything went smoothly. Although we had to shorten the route due to the weather, there were no complaints. All 907 finishers arrived at the Drei Zinnen Hütte overjoyed,” summed up Hofer, who was particularly pleased that the participant limit of 1000 starters was reached weeks before the end of the registration period.

Finally, Hofer repeated his thanks to the volunteers and sponsors. “Without the support of so many people, an event like the South Tyrol Drei Zinnen Alpine Run would be impossible. Now we will enjoy a few well-deserved days of break - before we get to work preparing the 20th anniversary edition. There will be some great surprises,” promised the OC boss.

The South Tyrol Drei Zinnen Alpine Run, a mountain running festival

The South Tyrol Drei Zinnen Alpine Run has developed in recent years into a three-day mountain running event in the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage Site. On Sunday the 19th edition ended in a very colorful and cheerful way with the Mini Drei Zinnen Alpine Run.
