The South Tyrol Drei Zinnen Alpine Run is a big hit

More than a fifth of all starting places for the South Tyrol Drei Zinnen Alpine Run have already been taken. This is an absolute record. “Enrollment went very well last year. At that time we had just over 100 registered participants, this year we were even able to double the number. As head of the OC, this of course makes me very happy and shows the good reputation we enjoy in the running scene,” explains Gottfried Hofer.

If you would like to take part in the South Tyrol Drei Zinnen Alpine Run, you should not put off registering for too long due to the large number of people. Because of the great demand, it could well be that the upper limit of 1000 participants will be broken early this year.

The distance

Gottfried Hofer sticks to the tried and tested when it comes to the route and route through the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage Site. The participants have to overcome 17,5 kilometers and 1350 meters in altitude. After starting at the parking lot at Haus Sexten and looping through the village center of the well-known tourist destination in the Alta Pusteria, the route takes you to Moos, then continues to the Fischleinbodenhütte and from there to the valley end hut. At the Bacherntal-Altensteinertal crossroads, turn left towards the Zsigmondyhütte.

From here, a selective serpentine path leads to the Zsigmondy hut and then on to the Büllelejoch hut at 2575 meters above sea level, from where the last three kilometers in front of the Paternkofel, above the Lake Constance, go to the finish at the Drei Zinnen Hut (2405 meters above sea level).

Registration costs 12 euros until June 50th, then 4 euros until September 60th. Anyone who registers between September 5th and 11th must pay a participation fee of 75 euros. Each participant receives a high-quality racing package. It includes a high-quality T-shirt from the Skinfit brand, various quality products from South Tyrol, the start number with chip, transport of clothes from the start area to the finish, five refreshment points on the route and in the finish area, a photo service, the finisher medal and entry to the pasta party Award ceremony, which takes place on Saturday afternoon at 17 p.m.

On Sunday, at the end of the well-known Sesto sports event for tomorrow's mountain runners, there will be the 11th Mini Drei Zinnen Alpine Run. Children and young people up to the age of 18 are allowed to take part.

The 18th edition of the South Tyrol Drei Zinnen Alpine Run on Saturday, September 12th looks to be a particularly successful one. Five and a half months before the starting signal in Sexten, 215 mountain runners from ten different nations have already registered for the sporting event.
