The amateur runners conquer Bolzano

Both the athlete from Trentino and the runner from Tuscany won the 23-kilometer route with 1100 meters of altitude for the first time. A total of 250 athletes took part on this bright autumn day. Before the starting signal at Waltherplatz it was clear that the fight for the day's victory would come down to a duel between last year's second place Enrico Cozzini, Vinschger Ludwig Andres and the third place from the last edition, Thomas Guadagnini. And that's how it ended up being. Cozzini from Trentino showed a strong performance in the state capital and was first to cross the finish line at Waltherplatz after 1:54.30 hours. He relegated Andres to second place by almost six minutes. The podium was completed by another athlete from the neighboring province, Guadagnini. For women, Ioana Lucaci was the measure of all things. The 28-year-old from Tuscany won the Bozen City Trail in 2:16.39 hours, ahead of Carolyn Schaltegger (2:18.47) and Sophie Maschi (2:22.12). Lucaci's twin sister Andreea came fourth. Curious: Andreea Lucaci prevailed here in Bolzano last year. She starts for Atletica Livorno, but has been living in Bolzano for some time and works as a nurse in the valley town. Results Bozen City Trail (23 km/1100 m) Men 1.
