The athletics talents show their class in Merano

The local U16 athletes celebrated eleven victories. In the girls' race, Lea Perathoner from SG Eisacktal won the 80 m, her teammate Ilaria Stuffer won the 80 m hurdles. The Puster high jumper Hannah Thaler crossed 1.62 m, Stephanie Schöpf from Lana was in a class of her own in the shot put. Long jumper Greta Amhof, Passeir javelin thrower Selma Göller and the South Tyrolean 4x100 m relay also celebrated victories. For the boys, Maximilian Springeth from Bolzano won the high jump with a good 1.81 m, and Nicolas Fiwickeler won the 100 m hurdles. Frederic Schöpf (Speer) and the men's relay team were also at the top of the podium. The U14 talents also showed their best side in the Combi Stadium. Sarah Peroni was impressive in the high jump with 1.48 m, the same as long jumper Sophie Seehauser (4.49 m). Giulia Biolcati won the shot put with 10.73 m. In the boys' competition, Stefano Rossi was the only South Tyrolean to win gold. The SAB's figurehead won the shot put with 12.55 m. The state selection also took 13 second and four third places.
