The South Tyrol selection for the regional meeting in Fidenza

The South Tyrolean squad includes 23 athletes and is looked after by the person in charge, Karl Schöpf, as well as the coaches Franco Cubich, Hans Pircher and Alessio Fuganti. There will be 10 local athletes competing in the boys category, while 13 will be competing in the girls category. The boys will be in the bottom half of the rankings, things are looking a little better for the girls, although Emma Elisabeth Garber, a strong runner, cannot travel to Fidenza. The main focus is on the Merano walker Sara Buglisi and the 1200 m steeplechase runner Katja Pattis from the Bozen Running Club, who are both contenders for victory in their discipline. In the last two seasons, the selection came home with a one-day win. Curiously, both wins came from the boys' 300m Luaf. In 2014, Michael Albrecht from Merano won in 35,12 seconds, the following year Patrick Baù from Brixen won in 36,21 seconds.

The South Tyrol selection for the regional meeting in Fidenza

The best U16 track and field athletes from northern and central Italy will meet on Sunday, June 5th in Fidenza, in the province of Parma, to determine the winners of the classic regional meeting. Young athletes from 13 different regions are taking part.
