The U18 Italian Championship in Rieti is just around the corner

As in the previous year, the Italian Youth Championships will take place in Rieti. Over the weekend, over 1300 athletes from 356 clubs will fight for a total of 42 Italian championship titles. This year the U56 Italian Championship will take place for the 18th time, and for the ninth time in Rieti. Last year the South Tyroleans returned with a medal. Javelin thrower Sarah Filehner from Signat took bronze with 43.62 m. In the women's category, several local athletes are also eligible for top results this year. The most promising participant is Greta Chizzali. The 17-year-old from Laion has registered the second best time of 2000:7 minutes in her flagship discipline of the 16.47 m steeplechase. Her strongest opponent will be Sofia Cafasso. The flagship of the CUS Torino has a registration time of 7:03.06 minutes. Marie Burger is also expected to achieve a good result in Rieti. The 100 m hurdles ace from Vahrn is aiming for a top 5 placement, just like 3000 m runner Anna Hofer from Rabland. In this race, Emily Vucemillo and Lisa Leuprecht are also good for a top ten result. Agata D'Angelo from the South Tyrol Team Club is registered in the 400 m with the seventh time of 58.33 seconds, and the Vinschger high jumper Lorena Lingg (1.66 m) is also credited with a good placing. In the seven-man men's team, Euan Den Nigro from SG Eisacktal could cause a surprise over 3000 m. Bolzano pole vaulter Mattia Bucciarelli and 800 m runner Lukas Lanzinger are also aiming for the top ten. The U18 Italian Championship in Rieti is just around the corner

After the Italian Championships two weeks ago in Rovereto, it is now the turn of the U18 athletes in Rieti. They will hold their title fights this weekend from Friday to Sunday. A total of 18 local athletes are taking part.
