The VSS village run series 2017 is history

There were eight stages to complete this summer, one fewer than last year, in the VSS/Raiffeisen city and village running series. For the men, local hero Alexander Stuffer set the pace from the start and left no doubt about who would win. After 5.800 meters, the man from Sarn won safely in a good time of 18.00 minutes. He relegated Simon Egger from Jenesien to second place, over a minute behind. His teammate Georg Premstaller completed the podium in 19.05 minutes.

Petra Pircher was unbeatable among the women, who completed a distance of 2.900 meters. In 10.16 minutes, the woman from Laas won by just one second ahead of Romana Gafriller. Natalie Andersag from Kardaun came third in 10.42 minutes.

There was no way around Pircher and Bazzoni Seen over the entire running series, Petra Pircher for the women and Gianmarco Bazzoni for the men were a guarantee of victory. The woman from Laas took part in seven of eight races in the VSS/Raiffeisen city and village running series and won six of them. Only in Niederdorf did she not appear to be the winner. Bazzoni competed five times in the 2017 season and won three times.

There was no way around ASC Laas in the club rankings this year either. The Vinschgers were clearly ahead in the final ranking with 13.630 points. The running friends from Laatsch/Taufers follow at a respectful distance (11.868 points) and the athletes from ASC Berg with 7.995 points.

The VSS village run series 2017 is history

A total of 329 runners didn't want to miss the final of the 38th VSS/Raiffeisen city and village running series in Sarnthein. In ideal running weather, Petra Pircher and Alexander Stuffer were the fastest of the day.
