The VSS village run series 2018 is history

Ten stages, two more than last year, had to be completed this summer in the VSS/Raiffeisen city and village running series. For the men, local hero Alex Oberbacher set the pace from the start in St. Ulrich and left no doubt as to who would win. After 5.250 meters, the man from Val Gardena won safely in a good time of 17.33 minutes. With a lead of 42 seconds, he relegated Gianmarco Bazzoni from Bolzano to second place. Alex Holtz from Meran completed the podium in 18.48 minutes.

Among the women, who completed a distance of 3.500 meters, exceptional runner Kathrin Hanspeter was unbeatable. The woman from Sarnen prevailed in a good time of 13.08 minutes ahead of series winner Petra Pircher from Laas (13.40). Natalie Andersag from Kardaun came third in 13.59 minutes.

There was no way around ASC Laas in the club rankings this year either. The Vinschgers were clearly ahead in the final ranking with 16.390 points. The running friends from Sarntal (10.953) and the athletes from LF Laatsch/Taufers follow at a respectful distance with 10.523 points.

The VSS village run series 2018 is history

More than 230 runners didn't want to miss the final of the 39th VSS/Raiffeisen city and village running series in Ortisei. In pouring rain, Kathrin Hanspeter from Sarnen and local hero Alex Oberbacher from Val Gardena were the fastest of the day.
