First Czech victory in Silandro: Michal Balner wins pole vault with 5.63 m

The Czech Michal Balner secured the first Czech victory in the pole vault in the village center of Silandro on Friday evening. The sixth place at the World Indoor Championships won with 5.63 m. The attack on the course record of 5.75 m narrowly failed. Behind Balner, the two Germans Raphael Holzdeppe and Richard Spiegelburg took second place with 5.53 m each. Around 1000 spectators watched the 10th edition at Kulturhausplatz.
