Spring classic on Lake Kaltern attracts with its anniversary edition

The Top7 running series has been around for ten years now. In 2006, the Kalterersee half marathon was launched, which attracts numerous top runners year after year. The scenic event already had 500 participants in its founding year. In the following years, the number of runners continued to increase, so a new record is expected this year. By Friday evening, the South Tyrolean Running Club had already received 950 registrations.

The entire route measures 21,09 kilometers. For the half marathon distance, two complete laps around Lake Kaltern have to be completed. The start and finish are next to the Gretl am See restaurant. The handbikers and participants in the panorama and fun run have to complete a lap around the lake.

The start takes place on Sunday at 10 a.m. at the parking lot in St. Josef am See. The handbikers start 5 minutes earlier. At 10.05:XNUMX a.m. the panoramic and popular runners will take to the track.

The defending champions are Hannes Rungger and Kathrin Hanspeter from Sarnen. Rungger has now been unbeaten at Lake Kaltern for three years and is aiming for his fourth win in a row this year. In addition to the Sarner, top runners such as Georg Brunner, Hermann Achmüller, Stefan Mair, Edeltraud Thaler, Petra Pircher, Monica Carlin and the North Tyrolean 2:40 marathon runner Karin Freitag are also at the start this year.
