Gerd Frick and Kathrin Hanspeter win in Branzoll - Update

Frick prevailed in 1:12.01 hours and relegated Günther Mair from Rasen (1:12.14) and Luca Nascimbeni (1:15.20) to the places. It was the fourth victory for the 40-year-old. Nobody has won so often in Branzoll. Top favorite Hannes Rungger had to give up after about five kilometers due to a lower leg strain. The man from Sarn not only lost the race, but also the top 7 overall ranking. This went to Patrick Oberlechner from Pusteria, who crossed the finish line in seventh place today. The 43-year-old from St. Lorenzen won the racing series with a lead of 91 points over Rungger and 154 points over the third-placed Alexander Köhl from Deutschnofen.

Kathrin Hanspeter missed her personal best by nine seconds Kathrin Hanspeter won the women's race in a confident manner with a strong time of 1:16.41. The 32-year-old from Sarnthein missed her personal best by just nine seconds. Behind Hanspeter, Johanna von Dellemann (1:24.38, beating her best by one minute) and Lorenza Beatrici from Trentino (1:24.47) came in second, or three. Petra Pircher from Val Venosta came fourth (1:25.54). As far as the overall ranking of the Top7 running series is concerned, Kathrin Hanspeter clearly came out on top. The woman from Sarnen won all the other races apart from the BoClassic. Behind Hanspeter (2664 points) are the two Valenschgers Petra Pircher (2163) and Mirka Loranzani (1876) in second and third place.

The man from Bolzano, who works for the Telmekom Team South Tyrol, and Kathrin Hanspeter from the Lauffreunde Sarntal won the half marathon in the three communities of Leifers, Pfatten and Branzoll on Sunday morning.
