Gögele and Pircher the first marble kings

The 71 starts had to cover a 7,5 km long route with a 700 m difference in altitude. The challenge: The last part of the route led through a tunnel with 365 stairs to the finish. In the men's category, Armin Gögele was at the top in the end. The 37-year-old veteran from the Merano sports club won confidently in 42.17 minutes and was already over a minute ahead of second-place finisher Andreas Reiterer, who stopped the time measurement after 43.26 minutes. Third place went to Anton Steiner from Vinschger in 3 minutes.

The matter was even clearer for the women. Top favorite and host Petra Pircher won in 47.41 minutes. In fact, only nine runners were faster than the woman from Lasa. Behind the victorious woman from Lasa, Francesca Iachemet from Trento took second place in 49.22 minutes. Another local hero, Anna Pircher from Morter, completed the podium in 50.52 minutes.
