Griesser and Holzmann win the 14th Pflazner Cross race

The Puster athletes dominated the men's race. Victory went to Martin Griesser from ASV Freienfeld, who entered the race's roll of honor for the first time. The runner as Mauls completed the 12 km (2 laps of 6 km each with a 270 m difference in altitude) at the Issinger Weiher in 43.42 minutes and won with an impressive 2.16 minute lead over Martin Plankensteiner. Robert Hopfgartner set the third best time in 46.52 minutes, while Valentin Huber came fourth at the same time.

In the women's race, victory also went to ASV Freienfeld with Carmen Holzmann. The 28-year-old former cross-country skier won in 54.11 minutes, over a minute ahead of Kardauner Natalie Andersag (55.23) from ASC Berg. Third place went to Christine Griessmair from ASV Prettau in 3 minutes. Last year, Andersag and Griessmair took second and third place.

In warm weather but ideal running conditions, the 14th edition of the Palatinate Cross Run took place on Friday evening at the Issinger Weiher. A total of 78 runners took part in the classic.
