Due to its format, the Agefactor Run has a unique selling point in South Tyrol. There is no comparable running event in the northernmost province of Italy in which the age of the participants is taken into account in the ranking. This makes the Agefactor Run an extremely exciting affair. Every year hundreds of running athletes register for it. And after completing the 10 kilometer long route, you'll be excited in the finish area as soon as the competitors cross the finish line and the net time is immediately converted into the time corresponding to the age factor. So far there has only been one winner in the men's Agefactor Run, Bruno Baggia. The now 87-year-old from Cles won three times in a row in Branzoll from 2017 to 2019 and wants to achieve his fourth victory en suite on Saturday, October 23rd after a year of break due to the pandemic. Baggia, multiple Masters world champion, completed the 10 kilometers two years ago in an incredible 50.53 minutes - a time that many much younger athletes dream of. Multiplied by his age factor, Baggia ended up with a time of 27.29 minutes. However, the fastest time in October 2019 was achieved by Hermann Achmüller, who reached the finish in 32.30 minutes. Among the women, Angelica Huber from Meran won the Agefactor Run, while Natalie Andersag completed the 37.59 kilometers fastest in 10 minutes. Almost everything is already arranged in Branzoll Preparations for the fourth edition of the Agefactor Run are in full swing. “When it comes to planning our event, we are on target with all tasks. The next few days will be a little more intense for the OC team, but that's completely normal. During our preparations, we paid great attention to the Corona measures, which we also have to adhere to. This includes presenting the Green Pass and wearing a mask in the start and finish areas, or whenever the minimum distances cannot be maintained,” says Massimo Zago from the organizing SV Branzoll. The starting shot for the Agefactor Run 2021 will be on Saturday, October 23rd at 15 p.m. in the “Pinara” in Branzoll. At the community's festival site in the south of South Tyrol, the participants reach the finish after 10 very flat kilometers. Anyone who does not have a sports medical certificate can also take part in the event. “This year we are also offering a non-competitive run of 5 kilometers, which is intended to commemorate our club member, the legendary Andrea Isoppo, who died all too early. “The starting signal for this will also be given at 15 p.m.,” continued Zago. Exciting duels for the top 7 overall ranking The Agefactor Run is also very important because at the last Top7 event of the year the dice are cast in the battle for overall victory. Things are particularly explosive for the women, as the leader Petra Pircher from Lasa with 1575 points is only 37 points ahead of Sarah Schenk from Innsbruck, who lives in Val Gardena. In the men's ranking, Michael Hofer from Deutschnofen is currently ahead with 1754 points. Martin Plankensteiner from Ahornach is in second place with 1518 points.
