Good results from the junior and U18 national selection in Modena

Long jumper Martin Unterweger and pole vaulter Nathalie Kofler took silver. Unterweger from SC Meran was only beaten by Fabio Pagan (6,69) from Veneto with a good 6,85 m. Kofler from Lanan, who celebrated her 17th birthday six days ago, jumped 18 m in the U3,40 competition. The U18 long jumper from CSS Leonardo da Vinci, Destiny Nkeonye, also made it onto the podium, coming third with 6,47 m .

The 60m runner Ira Harasser from SSV Bruneck came fourth in the U18 category in 7.88 seconds, like last year. She was just one hundredth short of a podium place. Junior sprinter Nicolò Fusaro from Ahtletic Club 4 Bozen took 96th place in the 60m hurdles in a new personal best time of 8.52 seconds. Long jumper Anna Menz from SC Meran can also be satisfied with her result. The junior came fifth with 5 m. Her U5,19 teammate Maia Gamper came 18th in the 60 m hurdles in 9.42 seconds, and in the preliminary run she even achieved a new personal best of 6 seconds.

The team ranking in Modena went to the Veneto team with 89 points, ahead of Tuscany and Emilia Romagna (both 77 points). South Tyrol took sixth place with 40 points.

Good results from the junior and U18 national selection in Modena

The regional selection meeting on Sunday in Modena offered 20 South Tyrolean junior and U18 athletes a good opportunity to test their form. Three local heroes made it onto the podium.
