IAAF Multistars: Dolezal and Kunz win in Lana

Kunz was already ahead after four disciplines on the first day. The 26-year-old American won with 5.971 points and missed her best by just 67 points. Second place went to 2-year-old Irishwoman Kate O'Connor, who even set a new Irish national record with 18 points. Another American, Riley Cooks, completed the podium with 5.881 points. Title favorite Allison Reaser-Halverson (5.873), however, had to settle for fourth place, while Brazilian Vanessa Chefer-Spinola (5.789) came fifth. The best Italian was 4-year-old young hopeful Sara Chiaratti in 5.676th place with 17 points.

In the men's race, however, victory went to the Czech Jan Dolezal. The 22-year-old won the decathlon with a strong 8.117 points and thus increased his best performance by another 50 points. Kristian Rosenberg came second. The surprise man from Estonia, who led after the first day, scored 7.950 points. The German Mathias Brugger came third with 7.927 points. Last year's winner Martin Roe from Norway took fourth place, but was already 4 points behind winner Dolezal. The Italian Simone Cairoli, who was in good eighth place at the halfway point yesterday, gave up in the penultimate discipline.

IAAF Multistars: Dolezal and Kunz win in Lana

The international Multistars all-around meeting in Lana came to an end on Sunday evening with the men's 1500 m run. The men's decathlon went to Jan Dolezal, while Annie Kunz held her own in the women's heptathlon.
