Italian Championship: Roberta Albertoni wins gold

South Tyrol has the best junior hurdlers in Italy. Three were in the finals of the Italian Indoor Championships in Ancona. In a heart-stopping final, Marion Kastl was leading until half way, but a mistake at the last hurdle cost her the medal in the end. Roberta Albertoni from Bolzano, who has been competing for the GS GS Valsugana since this year, won in a new personal best of 8.85 ahead of Silvia Zecchi from Prato at the same time. For Albertoni, whose father comes from Jamaica and whose mother comes from Bolzano and who was herself born in Berlin, it was the second medal at an Italian championship this year. She had already won bronze in the all-around competition in January. South Tyrol won another medal in the 60M hurdles final. In the fight for bronze, Giada Busolli prevailed in the South Tyrolean duel in 8.88, ahead of Marion Kastl at the same time. Busolli is the reigning Italian U18 outdoor champion in the 100 m hurdles.

With Lisa Prast (6th over 60 m H/U18) and Dominik Lahner (7th over 60 m/U18) two more South Tyroleans reached a final. Things also went very well for Isabel Tribus (SV Lana/U18). Tribus finished sixth in the 1000 m. U18 World Cup participant Matteo Didioni narrowly missed the 60 m final.

Italian Championship: Roberta Albertoni wins gold

South Tyrol's hurdlers are the best in Italy. At the national championships in Ancona, three finished in the top four in the 60 m hurdles final for junior women (under 20). Gold went to 17-year-old Roberta Albertoni from Bolzano. Giada Busolli (Bozen) won bronze ahead of Marion Kastl (SV Lana).
