Youth cross country champions crowned in Bolzano

In ideal conditions, 120 participants took part in the Bolzano Talferwiesen. The boys' U16 race was won by Raphael Joppi from the South Tyrolean Running Club, who was able to beat his teammate Paul Kelderer by five seconds. Patrick Baù from Eisacktal came third. In the U14 category, victory went to Jan Pircher from the organizing runners club, ahead of Ivan Bazzanella from Laag and Alessandro Paganini from Meran. Jan is the son of the running club coach Hans Pircher and the former heptathlete Herta Steiner. In the twelve-year-old category, David Bazzanella (Laag) came out ahead of Alexander Malfer from ASC Berg and Thomas Schrott from Mölt. In the girls' category, Stefanie Auer from Eppan won the U16 age group by five seconds over Lea Pircher from Dorf Tirol. Behind them were the Brixen twins Carmen and Isabel Vikoler. Stefanie Auer's sister, Nadja Auer, only had to admit defeat to Emma Garber from Merano in the fourteen-year-old category. Ruth Hannah Hauser from SC Berg came third. In the U12 category, Maddalena Melle from SC Meran prevailed ahead of Annika Oberrauch from the Bozner Laufen Club.

Youth cross country champions crowned in Bolzano

The Bozen Runners Club has been organizing the St. Nicholas Cross Run for over three decades, which this year was also considered a national championship for the youth categories U16, U14 and U12.
