Lake Kaltern Half Marathon will take place again in 2022

Actually, everything was already prepared this year for the traditional half marathon around the warmest swimming lake in the Alps. But less than two weeks before the planned starting signal (March 21st), the South Tyrolean state government vetoed it for security reasons. There was a strict lockdown in South Tyrol at the time, and the number of infections was too high. This means that the Under Armor Kalterer See Half Marathon could not take place for the second time in a row after the popular running event had to be canceled in 2020 as one of the first sporting events in South Tyrol at the beginning of the corona pandemic. However, the South Tyrolean running club, which organizes the Under Armor Kalterer See half marathon, is not disturbed by the two cancellations through no fault of their own. OC boss Patrick Olivetto and his many helpers are already working hard on the 15th edition, which will now take place on Sunday, March 27, 2022. Hoping for normal conditions in 2022 “At first we were shocked after the second cancellation, although we can still understand the state government's decision at that time and it was unavoidable. We now have enough time to put together a well-organized event for our 15th birthday. Everyone in our team is highly motivated. “Of course we hope that the Under Armor Kalterer See Half Marathon can take place under ‘normal’ conditions next year – when the pandemic is hopefully finally over,” says Patrick Olivetto. The 2021 running season, however, started successfully on Sunday with the half marathon in Meran under great safety precautions. The next race in the Top7 series will take place in just over two weeks. It is the BOclassic Südtirol Nightrun, which will take place as an evening event on Whit Saturday, May 22nd.
