Katja Pattis with peak time in Bolzano

The animal from the South Tyrol Team Club, who is celebrating her 17th birthday on Tuesday, won the 2000 m steeplechase in a strong 7:06.43 minutes. Behind Pattis came Traminer Lisa Kerschbaumer (7:08.49) from SC Meran in second place. Pattis missed her personal South Tyrolean U2 best by 18 hundredths, but with this time she set the new Italian U85 best time for the year ahead of Kerschbaumer. Next weekend, the two South Tyroleans want to attract attention again at the international Brixia meeting in Brixen.

Beltina Kallaba also achieved good results in the state capital: the Bolzano native was able to hold her own in both the shot put and discus throw. Martina Falchetti (3000 m), Maddalena Melle (400 m) and the Val Gardena high jumper Hannah Insam also showed convincing performances. In the boys' category, the Bolzano sprinter Elias Vonella (100 and 200 m) celebrated a double victory, as did Samuel Demetz from Val Gardena over the 3000 m and 2000 steeplechase.
