No new world record at the Berlin Marathon

Despite a race to catch up, the Ethiopian Kenenisa Bekele has once again missed his goal of setting the record over the 5.000 kilometers after setting the world records over 10.000 and 42,195 meters. His victorious compatriot Guye Adola also ran well past Eliud Kipchoge's world record in late summer conditions at the Berlin Marathon.
