No medal at the end of the U20 and U23 Italian Championships

The U23 runner Caren Agreiter from SSV Bruneck narrowly missed out on a podium place. The 400-year-old from Puster took fourth place in the 21 m hurdles in 58.89 seconds. Agreiter, who set the fastest time in yesterday's heat, was 44 hundredths behind Eleonora Marchiando's third place. Linda Olivieri from Monza became the new Italian champion. She won in a strong 57.71 seconds ahead of Rebecca Sartori (57.93). Last year Agreiter had to be content with an ungrateful fourth place.

Agreiter was also in action with the Bruneck 4x400 m relay team in the afternoon. Together with Katharina Oberhammer, Lisa Mayr and Maria Theresia Schwingshackl, she also took fourth place in 3:46.81. She was 4 hundredths short of the podium.

Gabriele Prandi also narrowly missed out on a medal. The runner from Athletic Club 96 Bozen came fourth in the 400 m hurdles in the U23 age group in 53.54 seconds. He was 22 hundredths short of bronze. The victory went to 22-year-old Matteo Beria from Veneto in 50.67 seconds.

The third 400 m hurdles finalist on today's final day was Isabel Vikoler. The U20 runner from SG Eisacktal took sixth place in 1:03.42 minutes. Her teammate Angela Kier came tenth in the triple jump with 11.90 m. Both then competed in the 4x400m relay with Carmen Vikoler and Diana Caravaggi Esposito and came sixth in 4:00.57 minutes. The Bolzano U20 high jumper Alberto Masera came in 1.95th with 11 m.
