Konstantin Wedel anniversary winner at the 20th Reschenseelauf

The German Konstantin Wedel crossed the finish line in the anniversary run in 47:23 minutes, which is a new course record. The previous course record was 48:17 minutes, set by Milan Kokourek in 2013. However, this year the start was moved from the forest path near the church tower to the road tunnel. Wedel is no stranger to the Reschenseelauf: In 2017, the runner from Nuremberg came second in 49:41 minutes behind Emanuele Repetto (ITA/2:49 minutes). This year Repetto came third in 33:49 behind Jaiteh Ousman (27:49).

In the women's race, Simone Raatz (GER) won in 56:23 minutes, just ahead of Kathrin Hanspeter from Sarnen (56:31) and Anne Kesselring (GER/57:48).

Last year the victory went to Jbari Khalid from Bolzano (50:09 minutes), while Giovanna Epis won the women's race (50:42/Carabinieri). A total of around 2019 runners took part in the Reschenseelauf 4000.

The starting signal for the 21.30th Reschenseelauf was fired in Graun on Saturday evening at 20 p.m. To mark the anniversary, the running classic was held at night for the first time.
