Konstantin Wedel defends title in the Schenna – Taser mountain run

A total of 90 runners took up the challenge in good running weather. As in the previous year, the German Konstantin Wedel, who starts for LAC Quelle Fürth, was the quickest to overcome the 5,6 kilometer long climb with 666 meters in altitude. Wedel is a 3000 m steeplechase runner and made people sit up and take notice in South Tyrol last year when he came an excellent second in the Reschenseelauf and won the BoClassic fun run on New Year's Eve. On Sunday he crossed the finish line after 30.40 minutes and was therefore over a minute and a half faster than all of the competition. Second place went to Gianmarco Bazzoni from Bolzano (32.14 minutes), while Armin Gögele, who came second from Merano last year, completed the podium in 32.27 minutes.

For the women, Francesca Iachemet from Trento entered the list of winners for the first time. The experienced runner from Cembra crossed the finish line in a very good 37.52 minutes, but missed Petra Pircher's course record, set last year, by just under a minute. Behind Iachemet, Heidi Pfeifer (43.15), almost six minutes behind, took second place. Karin Innerebner from the South Tyrolean Running Club came third in 43.44 minutes.

Konstantin Wedel defends title in the Schenna – Taser mountain run

The sixth edition of the mountain run from Schenna to the Taser took place on Sunday. Victory in the men's race went to 25-year-old German Konstantin Wedel, while Francesca Iachemet from Trento won the women's race.
