Ladurner Grand Prix in Meran with record participation

With no wind and partial sunshine, the young people found ideal conditions. In the U16 girls' category, Lea Perathoner from SG Eisacktal celebrated a double victory in the 80 m and long jump. Nicole Castlunger from SAF Bolzano even set a new U16 national record. She achieved 37.81 m in the hammer throw, breaking Monika Menz's record from 1994 by five centimeters. Lanan shot putter Stephanie Schöpf and Vipiteno 1000 m ace Lena Trenkwalder also performed well. Frederic Schöpf won the long jump for the U16 boys with a good 6.25 m, and the SV Lana figurehead also won the discus throw with 30.60 m. Schöpf completed his hat trick with victory over 80 m. In the U14 age group, Katharina Agstner from SSV Bruneck won over 60 m in a good 8.89 seconds, Johanna Herbst from Deutschnofen timed the 600 m in 1:51.48 minutes. Jordi Targa, however, dominated the boys category. The athlete from the Bolzano club CSS Leonardo da Vinci celebrated a triple victory over 60 m as well as in the high jump and long jump. Ladurner Grand Prix in Meran with record participation

The new athletics season started in Merano on Saturday with the first stage of the Ladurner Grand Prix for the U1 and U14 age groups. The organizers were pleased with the huge fields of participants; over 16 athletes took part in the two girls' sprint races alone.
