State selections shine at the regional meeting in Cles

There were 10 gold medals there. In the girls' U16 category, Sofia Demetz from Val Gardena won the 1000 m, high jumper Jana Gruber and shot putter Sofia Zenoniani (both from SV Lana) were also at the top. In the boys' category, long jumper Daniele Tomasi from CSS Leonardo da Vinci from Bolzano won with 5.87 m, while Christoph Öttl from Passeier won the javelin throw with 37.66 m. In the U14 class, 150 m sprinter Lea Perathoner from SG Eisacktal was in a class of her own, while Val Gardena high jumper Annalisa Goffi set her personal best with 1.46 m. Hannah Thaler from SSV Bruneck came second in this competition with 1.46 m. The Lanan shot putter Stephanie Schöpf achieved a good 11.57 m. Her teammate Manuel Antonucci held his own over 150 m in 19.26 seconds, Hannes Mayrl came third in 20.49 seconds. Stefano Rossi and Luca De Biasi (both SAB) made it to 2nd and 3rd place in the ball throw, the 4x100 m relay (David Righi, Hannes Mayrl, Frederic Schöpf, Manuel Antonucci) won in 54.96 seconds. In the U18 regional comparison, the South Tyrolean athletes worked a little harder. Anna Hofer achieved the top result. The Rablander from SC Meran stopped the time measurement over 1500 m at 4:47.64 minutes (new best time), which was enough for fifth place in the end. Greta Chizzali (5th) and Emily Vucemillo (6th) lined up right behind them. Alessia Goffi came sixth in the long jump. The Val Gardena woman also set a new record of 7 m. For the boys, Lukas Lanzinger (SG Eisacktal) impressed in seventh place in the 5.50 m run. Two general class 400 and 1500 m races also took place in Cles. Ebrima Bojang from Athletic Club 400 Bozen came out on top in the men's 96 m race, while Michela Piva (SG Eisacktal) came fourth as the best South Tyrolean in the women's race. Samuel Demetz from Val Gardena (1500:4) from SC Meran was once again unbeatable over 01.54 m. State selections shine at the regional meeting in Cles

The meeting of the regional selections on Saturday in Cles offered numerous South Tyrolean athletes a good opportunity to test their form. From a South Tyrolean perspective, there was reason to celebrate, especially in the U14 and U16 categories.
