Lanziner and Pircher triumph at the start of the village run in Sarnthein

Sarnthein, which hosted a village run for the 33rd time, lived up to its excellent reputation again this year and was pleased to have a field of 285 runners. If you count the athletes in the trial category, a total of 320 participants met in the Sarntal. In the men's race, which had to overcome a course of 5.800 meters, the day's victory clearly went to Peter Lanziner. Trudner won in 17.33 minutes, repeating his victory from last year. Behind Lanziner, Hannes Perkmann from the Athlete Team (18.07) and Alex Stuffer (18.14) from the Lauffreunde Sarntal from Sarnen climbed onto the podium. Petra Pircher took victory in the women's category. The woman from Lasa covered the 2.900 meter route in 10.20 minutes and was 39 seconds ahead of Karin Innerebner from the South Tyrolean Running Club, who secured second place. Romana Gafriller (11.07) from SG Eisacktal came in third. The club ranking was won by the team from Laas, which with 1997 points narrowly left behind the local athletes from LF Sarntal (1993 points). The ASC Berg team reached third place with 1324 points. The VSS village and city running series, which will take place in a total of nine races this year, will continue on May 1st in Oberwielenbach.

The start of the 37th season of the VSS village and city runs took place in Sarnthein on Saturday. Peter Lanziner and Petra Pircher were unbeatable.
