Lanziner and Tschurtschenthaler win the 2nd Merano City Run

Despite the light rain, 177 runners took part in the race. Among the men, Peter Lanziner was in a class of his own. The 32-year-old Trudner won in 30.49 minutes, 37 seconds ahead of Alexander Stuffer, who lives in the Sarntal. Third place went to Hannes Rungger, over a minute behind, but he clearly secured the overall ranking of the “Winter Run 2015” (Algund-Vellau mountain run and Merano city run) ahead of Gabriel Karnutsch. For the women, Agnes Tschurtschenthaler celebrated a brilliant comeback after a two-year break due to injury and maternity leave. The woman from Puster ran the 10 km in 34.19 minutes and lost out to Kathrin Hanspeter from Sarnen (34.35). Third place went to Johann von Dellemann (37.58). In the overall winter running ranking, Hanspeter came out ahead of Edeltraud Thaler from Lana.

Lanziner and Tschurtschenthaler win the 2nd Merano City Run

A first highlight in this young running season took place on Saturday afternoon with the 10 km road run in Merano. In a top-class race, Peter Lanziner from Trudner prevailed among the men. Agnes Tschurtschenthaler from Sexten won the women's event.
