Lanziner and Tschurtschenthaler win the Puster three-quarter half marathon

Peter Lanziner once again showed an extremely strong performance at the Puster three-quarter half marathon. The 33-year-old Trudner, who competes for Quercia Rovereto, completed the course in 57.13 minutes, almost half a minute faster than last year, but clearly missed Said Boudalia's course record from 2009 (55:48). Lanziner set the pace right from the start with Khalid Jbari from Athletic Club 96 Bozen and triathlete Matthias Steinwandter. After six kilometers, the Trudener pulled away and crossed the finish line alone, 1.41 minutes ahead of Jbari. Third came Alexander Stuffer from Sarn, who was able to overtake Steinwandter in the last few kilometers. Stuffer almost caught up with Jbari, but in the end he was only six seconds shy of second place.

Agnes Tschurtschenthaler wins with a new course record In the women's race, however, Kathrin Hanspeter from Sarnen was unable to repeat her victories from 2013 and 2014 today. She crossed the finish line in 1:03.45 hours, exactly one and a half minutes behind Agnes Tschurtschenthaler. In 1:02.15 hours, the Sesto native improved her own course record from 2011 by over a minute and celebrated her third victory in the popular “Erdäpfellauf” in Sand. The race is called that because every participant receives a sack of Puster potatoes at the finish. The Puster three-quarter half marathon was the third to last stage of the top 7 running series. The 27th Soltn mountain half marathon will take place in Jenesien on September 15th. Four weeks later, on October 25th, the running series in Branzoll ends with the 22nd edition of the Three Municipalities Half Marathon.
