Pustertal Running Club: Because the joy of running brings people together

The Pustertal running club was founded in March 2014 by the ambitious runners Georg Brunner, Hermann Achmüller, Gerd Kathrein, Christoph Rauter, Nino La Marchina and Gunnar Leiter. “With the club we wanted to create a platform where people with the same passion for running can meet and exchange ideas,” says Georg Brunner, founding member and current president. The success obviously proves him right, because the club has grown from initially 25 members to currently 70 members. “The number of members should be maintained at approximately this level,” was the tenor of the committee. The aim is to maintain the personal touch of the club but also a certain exclusivity. Extensive event program On January 28th, the members of the running club accepted the invitation to the annual general meeting. President Georg Brunner explains that the last few years have been associated with great uncertainty. As a result, club life would have suffered, but it was a matter close to his heart and the entire committee's heart to ensure the club's continued existence. The running club is therefore planning an extensive program of events for 2023 to bring running enthusiasts, who tend to be individual athletes, closer together again. “The committee can only make suggestions and set the direction here,” says Georg Brunner, “but it requires the willingness and cooperation of every single member to keep the association alive.” A big thank you goes out to them at this point Sponsors of the club, without whose help it would hardly be possible to implement the planned projects. The new committee At the end of the general meeting, the new committee was elected. Hermann Plaickner from Mühlwald has now joined the existing members Georg Brunner, Gerd Kathrein, Christoph Rauter, Horst Pescolderung, Daniel Schwingshackl and Hermann Achmüller. The latter has been a passionate runner himself for many years and, as a committed member, represents a great asset to the committee. After a total of nine years and three legislative periods, the previous President Georg Brunner handed over the scepter to Gerd Kathrein. He has supported the President in the role of Vice President for many years and will now take over the office of President for the next three years. According to the motto “A passion. A team. The new president is convinced that he can quickly revive the club: “Simply because we share the joy of running and we can regularly exchange ideas here with other like-minded people who are keen on running.”

Pustertal Running Club: Because the joy of running brings people together

In January, the members of the Pustertal Running Club met for their annual general meeting. Old things were reflected on and new plans were made for the future. The newly elected committee under the leadership of President Gerd Kathrein is now responsible for implementing the projects.
