Final decisions at the Top7 final in Branzoll

Is he coming or not coming? Said Boudalia doesn't want to decide until the last moment whether he will defend his title in Branzoll. With four wins he would then be the sole record holder. For the Vinschger, 43rd place is enough to secure his first overall victory. Hermann Achmüller, on the other hand, is taking part in a test for the New York Marathon.

In the women's category there is an exciting duel between Sonia Lopes and Mirella Bergamo. Lopes is from Cape Verde but has lived in Verona for 13 years. She won the Three Municipalities Half Marathon in 2010. Last year she only had to admit defeat to Agnes Tschurtschenthaler. Bergamo has had an exciting duel with Lopes in each of the past two years. In 2010, the Trentino native was second, eight seconds behind, and last year she was third, 13 seconds behind. With a third place, Petra Pircher can finally secure her third Top7 overall victory. The first five in the overall ranking, all of whom mathematically still have a chance of overall victory, are all at the start.

The starting signal for the 21.097 km long classic will be given at 10 a.m. in the Galizien sports zone in Laives (note, on Sunday night the clocks will be set back by one hour). The route leads south via Branzoll to the heights of Auer. Cross the Laimburg Bridge in a northerly direction to Pfatten, where there is an intermediate sprint at km 15,9. The destination is in front of the town hall in Branzoll.

Three days before the registration deadline, there are many indications of a new record number of participants. “We have received more entries so far than in the same period last year,” says OC boss Isoppo from SV Branzoll. Last year the event had 311 “finishers”. This year too there will be a “Best 5” team ranking in Branzoll. The five fastest times per club are added together.
