Leuprecht and Domenici win the Nikolaus Cross run

The U16 and U18 races in particular were top-class. SC Meran once again sent a strong group of women into the race. In the U18 age group, mountain running specialist Lisa Leuprecht from Lana came out ahead of her Merano teammates Nike Frick and Emily Vucemillo. In the U16 competition, Sofia Demetz from Val Gardena, also from SC Meran, was at the top. Vanessa Russo (Merano Atletica) and Julia Gamper (SC Meran) completed the podium. Lilian Marie Andres won the U14 run over 1.600 m, Klara Alber won the U12. A title also went to Merano for the boys: in the U16 category, David Agethle was in a class of his own. Ivan Domenici from the South Tyrol Team Club won the U18 category over 3.200 m, ahead of local hero Andreas Tiefenbrunner and Valentino Melle. In the U14 race, Peter Thaler from ASV Deutschnofen narrowly won ahead of Gabriel Burger, while Ivan Di Cello from AS Merano was able to hold his own in the U12 race. Five South Tyroleans at a mountain running training camp However, a total of five South Tyroleans were in the 17-member squad of the Italian national mountain running team. At the training camp in Darfo Boario (Brescia), 23-year-old Daniel Pattis from Tiers and Samuel Demetz from Val Gardena, who is five years younger, took part in the men's team. Leuprecht and Domenici win the Nikolaus Cross run

The St. Nicholas Cross Run run by the Bozen Running Club is one of the oldest races in the South Tyrolean competition calendar. The youth race on the Bolzano Talferwiesen enjoyed great interest despite pandemic restrictions. 140 runners took part in the state capital.
