Strong sprint meeting in Bolzano goes to Lopez

The runners found the best conditions in sunshine and warm temperatures. The focus of the event was the well-attended competitions in the general classes.

There were double victories for Brayan Lopez and Federica Cavalli in both the men's and women's categories. The 21-year-old Lopez from Piedmont, who competes for Athletic Club 96, won the 100 m in a strong 10.66 seconds and the 300 m in 34.22 seconds. In the women's race, sprint ace Cavalli from SAF Bolzano was also able to hold his own in the 100 m (12.81) and 300 m (42.23).

The victory in the U16 girls also went to an athlete from the SAF. Miriam Cordioli stopped the time measurement over 80 m after 10.93 seconds, clearly ahead of Laura Vecchiato (11.13) and Matilda Adami (11.25) from the Südtirol Team Club. In the boys' category, Jacopo Fattor from SAB won, ahead of Michele Toccoli and Matteo Francescato.

The U14 women's sprint was dominated by Società Atletica Bolzano. Sofia Carrella won the 60 m in 9.35 seconds ahead of her teammates Vittoria Giovanelli and Elisa Marcotto. The victory in the U14 boys went to Mattia Graiff. The runner from SAF Bolzano was able to hold his own in 9.03 seconds ahead of teammate Kevin Lubello and Dylan Pellicini from SAB.

Many young talents also took part in the race in the Talferstadt. Sebastiano Gori from SAF Bolzano and Anna Kofler from the Bozen Running Club secured the U12 sprints over 50 m.

Strong sprint meeting in Bolzano goes to Lopez

The third edition of the sprint meeting “Who is the fastest?” took place in Bolzano on Saturday. Over 96 athletes took part in the event, which was organized by the Athletic Club 150 Bozen and the SAB in Haslach.
