Merano takes bronze in the U20 team competition

A total of 29 local athletes took part in the “Festa del Cross” in Umbria. The best individual result was achieved by Sofia Demetz from Val Gardena, who placed 18th in the U4 race over 12 km. Emma Ghirardello Pichler from Meran came 14th.

Lisa Leuprecht from Lanan, who also competes for the Passerstädter women, took 20th place in the U16 competition. Her teammate, Anna Hofer from Rabland, crossed the finish line in 18th place, Emily Vucemillo and Nike Frick (both also from SCM) had to make do with 28th and 30th place respectively. Last year in Trieste, Meran won the U18 team competition with Leuprecht, Hofer, Demetz and Ghirardello Pichler, and this year the athletes from the spa town took third place in the U20 team ranking.

A seven-member U16 national team also competed in Gubbio. However, this time it wasn't enough to achieve top results: the girls placed 14th, there was no boys' team at the start.

Merano takes bronze in the U20 team competition

Over 2000 athletes competed for the Italian cross-country championship title in Gubbio at the weekend. The Meran sports club won bronze in the team competition.
