Merano girls celebrate 3 wins at the Italian Club Championship

In addition to the A final of the best twelve teams in Italy, four B finals (from 13th to 60th place) also took place at the weekend. SC Meran started in the north-east district, which was held in Bovolone. The Merano ladies showed a strong team performance near Verona. With three daily victories and two more podium places, it was finally enough for seventh place. Martina Falchetti won the 1500 m run in 4:56.97 minutes. The 16-year-old from Val Gardena missed her best time by almost four seconds. Over 3000m, however, Falchetti was only beaten by Ilaria Bruno from Pordenone. Maia Gamper achieved Meran's second victory, finishing at the top of the 100 m hurdles in 16.49 seconds. In the 400 m hurdles competition, however, she narrowly missed the podium and had to settle for fourth place.

The walker Sara Buglisi completed the Merano hat trick. Over 5000m she left her competitor Ivo Soko from Trieste behind in 26:14.48 minutes. Emma Garber and Marie Gruber won two bronze medals. Garber stopped the time measurement in the 2000m obstacle after 7:54.53 minutes, Gruber climbed onto the podium in the shot put with 11.72 m.

Victory in the B-Final North-East went to the Trent team of Quercia Trentingrana, who were able to hold their own with 152 points ahead of Team Treviso (144) and Atletica Malignani Libertas (140).
