Moser/Larch win Tiefroschtn-X-trem

The Tiefroschtn X-trem run starts in teams of two, with both athletes having to reach the finish at the same time. That makes the whole thing even more exciting. In the men's race, under ideal running conditions, last year's winner Christian Moser (then with David Thöni) from LF Freienfeld and Marreiter Armin Larch clearly won in 2:11.12 hours, over 6 minutes ahead of Martin Stofner from Reinswalde and Philipp Plunger from Klausner. Fabian Wierer/Andreas Niederbrunner secured third place in 3:2 hours.

Moser/Larch missed the course record set by biathlete Lukas Hofer and climbing specialist Philipp Götsch in 2015 (2:10.08 hours) by just over a minute.

In the women's race, Pusteria's Manuela Steiner/Petra Leiter won confidently in 3:04.06 hours. Second place went to Monika Reinthaler/Lea Trenkwalder, both from the Freienfeld running club, who stopped the time measurement in 3:14.38 hours. Last year's runners-up Sara Steinmair/Hannah Bielak from Team Gsies completed the podium in 3:30.58 hours.

In the mixed doubles, however, Anneliese Felderer/Markus Planötscher were able to defend their title from last year. The two men from Sarnen won in 2:35.42 hours ahead of Kathrin Hanspeter/Georg Premstaller (2:37.47), also from Sarntal. Third place went to the Puster biathlon aces Dorothea Wierer and Lukas Hofer in 3:2 hours.

There were 17 participants at the start of the 126th edition of the Tiefroschtn X-trem run on Saturday in Terento. Victory went to Christian Moser and Armin Larch from Wipptal, who completed the 20 km route with 1580 meters of altitude in a very good 2:11.12 hours.
